The government has approved rules for state-supported rental housing. It has clarified the conditions for those who apply for it. The aim is to allocate the available properties more quickly and simply. People with higher earnings will end up at the bottom of the waiting list.<\/p>\n
An applicant is entitled to state-supported rental housing if their minimum income is higher than the rent for the flat excluding energy costs.<\/p>\n
\u201cIncome must not exceed \u20ac2,200 per month, and such an applicant must not own any property,\u201d explained real estate analyst Viktor Obtulovi\u010d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe decision-making process will be simplified and speeded up. As a result, flats will be allocated more quickly. The aim is to make housing more affordable and fairer for everyone who really needs it,\u201d said Petra Pol\u00e1\u010dikov\u00e1, spokesperson for the Slovak Ministry of Transport.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the beginning of next year, one development company should start building such flats and deliver 500 of these properties. A second company should provide existing properties for this purpose,\u201d Obtulovi\u010d continued.<\/p>\n
